Having a strong and stable core is essential to sports performance and injury prevention. Nearly all muscle activities from your extremities and torso originate from your core muscles. Therefore having a strong core is vital in performing at a maximum. Core training simulate activities such as walking, running, and swimming. Core training must be catered to your specific body capabilities. Therefore it is very important to start on your own level whether it is a beginner, intermediate, or advanced level. We will asses which level is the right one for you in order to prevent injuries. Level 1 usually starts with core training done on the floor. Level 2 involves an exercise ball. Level 3 also involves an exercise ball or other materials that provides a more challenging session. The goal of core training is to provide a natural brace for your back in order to prevent it from getting injured while making it stronger at the same time.

The core muscles are made up of two groups: The inner group on the right and the outer group on the left. The left picture shows the muscles that surround and stabilize the spine. These are the muscles you need to strengthen in order to prevent injury. The picture on the right protects the muscles pictured on the left. Therefore, strengthening BOTH groups is essential to a stronger core.
